Air Humidifiers

The air humidifiers act to improve the quality of air inside your room. They alleviate the various problems associated with dry air, like the dry skin, headaches due to sinus, as well as coughing and sneezing. During the winter months, when the air naturally remains dry and the use of forced room heating process makes the air further dry, the air humidifiers put in necessary moisture in the air of your room and prevent you from the various ailments like the itchy eyes, cracked lips, and dry skin.

The mucous lining present inside your throat and nose may be dried out because of the low level of humidity resulting in sore throats, sinus infections, and nose bleeds. The dry air can also cause damage to your wood furniture leading them to crack.

A room humidifier helps your kid to sleep properly at night. They are also great to prevent colds and the development of germs during the season of flu. When you choose an air humidifier the two most significant aspects you need to keep in consideration are your room size and the kind of air humidifier you like.

The presence of excessive moisture may support development of various biological organisms inside your home. The microscopic dust mites can produce the substances that might cause allergic reactions. The ideal level of humidity for healthy air ranges from 30 to 50% relative humidity.

You can easily observe the level of relative humidity with the help of an economical hygrometer. Low level of humidity (when it is lower than 30%) is not good for health, and the higher level of humidity (which is more than 50%) may lead to the growth of the bacteria, mold, dust mites, and fungi. The windows of your room show the signs of higher level of humidity. Most of the humidifiers are set with humidistats. You can adjust the humidistats as per your wish and alter the moisture level in your room as per your requirements. The high-end models of air humidifiers are set with built-in hygrometers.

People suffering from lung disorders or respiratory problems are especially vulnerable to various kinds of airborne germs. However, you can reduce the probabilities of spreading of the germs or evaporated minerals from the humidifier by taking proper care of your appliance. Using distilled water will facilitate your air humidifier to disperse low minerals.

You need to regularly clean your humidifier for preventing the development of mildew, mold, bacteria, and fungi. Such organisms can multiply in stagnant water left inside the humidifier over 24 hours. Therefore, you need to ensure the emptying and refilling the humidifier on a daily basis. Depending on the type of humidifiers you need to periodically clean the entire system for maintaining the hygiene and safety of the air inside your home.
